Banaat FC is excited to announce Shamel Soqar as their new coach. Shamel was impressed by Banaat FC's team spirit and their commitment to building a strong women's football program. This is his first experience as a head coach in women's football which is a new challenge as he also builds a new team, but he brings experience assisting the first team of La Liga Academy women's team previously.
His vision for Banaat FC is to focus on building a strong foundation. This includes creating a robust academy program for U10 to U18 players and building a united team spirit. He also believes in the year 2024, technology can play a role in improving player performance and will use it alongside traditional coaching methods.
So far, he sees Banaat FC prioritizes team spirit and camaraderie over winning and he believes as well that a strong team bond built on mutual respect and support is the key to success. While initially players had to adjust mindsets, he says "they're now on the right track with a professional team culture focused on loyalty and looking out for one another".Â
While acknowledging recent good results, he recognizes the importance of addressing challenges through open communication with players and this ultimately will help improve them technically and tactically as he tries to play Banaat in a new formation in women's football. He sees a bright future for women's football in the UAE and plans to contribute through scouting talented players.
For the fans, he sees them as player number one, drawing strength from their support. He promises the team will give their all to make the fans proud. Finally, Coach Shamel is excited about the positive and supportive atmosphere at Banaat FC, stating "To be honest, you will not see the atmosphere and the vibes in any women’s club in UAE because of that, we are happy, we are working relaxed, and being comfortable in a place that you are working on will help a lot the team improving because you’re going to be giving all the best for your team and to make sure that the supporters are happy as well."
