Salha Rashid, a UAE NT and now Banaat FC defender known across the women’s game in the country, hails from the beautiful city of Kalba in the emirate of Sharjah.

This captain of the Unified Special Olympics team still holds the memory of playing for the UAE NT at the age of 14 at the highest regard. Thanks to her unforgettable goals against Jordan and Tajikistan, her name had been etched into the younger groups history, and grew as she did.

The roots of her football passion trace back to carefree days in the neighborhood, playing with cousins, and growing up in a football-loving family, she found inspiration and support, especially from her brother Salim Rashid, a prominent player for Kalba FC in the UAE Pro League.
