On Wednesday, February 12, club president Budreya Faisal hosted the Real Madrid Graduate School of Universidad Europea for an exclusive presentation of sports marketing and an in depth look into the football culture in the UAE.
Students gained firsthand insight from a local trailblazer as Faisal shared her experiences in revolutionizing football representation in the Middle East. They also learned about Banaat FC’s beginnings and the club’s ongoing journey in challenging the norms of women's football in the region.
Following the presentation, the group toured Al Nasr Club Stadium, gaining insights into Dubai’s oldest football club and its rich football culture. They then observed a Banaat FC training session and were able to experience the team’s dedication and growth firsthand.
Students also had the chance to speak to Arsenal legend and ex-France national team player, Bacary Sagna. He shared his experiences as a player and discussed the differences in coaching football in the UAE. Sagna highlighted the dedication and passion of his team, emphasizing their strong will and unwavering commitment to the game.
An Argentinian student from the university presented the club with a preserved piece of wood from the original structure of La Bombonera Stadium, home of the Argentinian team, Club Atlético Boca Juniors. In addition, the university graciously gifted a Real Madrid jersey, signed by Emilio Butragueno, both symbolizing their appreciation for the efforts made by Budreya Faisal in hosting them and their respect for the Banaat FC's dedication to the changing the game.
The visit provided an enriching experience for the students, offering them a unique perspective on football marketing, club development, and the evolving landscape of women's football in the Middle East, leaving the group with many valuable insights and inspiration to take forward in their own careers in the sports industry.
