UAE National Team goalkeeper Aya Al Duhail began her journey at the age of 6 alongside her older brother who plays in the UAE Pro League. Did she know then that 8 years later she would debut with the UAE National Team in Bangladesh for the 2019 West Asian Cup? Probably not. But coming from a family of footballers, and more than one sister who also chose the honorary position of Goalkeeper, Aya was bound to stand out and excel her way to Banaat FC.
At 170cm and having just turned 19, this half-Russian, half-Emirati star enjoys taking on a striker 1-on-1 as her top skill.
Away from football, Aya’s love for fashion, reading and travel take up her time when she’s not studying Aviation Engineering as part of the FlyDubai program that also employes her. Aya’s ambitions will see her one day soaring in the sky as one of the greatest goalkeepers, and not long after that, as a pilot.
