Banaat FC opened its first-ever international campaign in style, at Prince Mohammed Stadium, the UAE champions produced a composed and increasingly dominant display, overcoming Beirut Football Academy and finishing the evening with four goals, a clean sheet and three points.

A Strong Start
Banaat FC started with intent, applying pressure and looking to establish control from the opening whistle.
The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute. Following a battle for possession involving captain Sabrine Mamay (10) on the left side of the box, the ball fell to Lizz Forshaw (8), who found a narrow opening through the Beirut defence. Lizz struck through a crowd of defenders and past the goalkeeper, threading the ball into the bottom-right corner to give Banaat FC the lead.

The advantage held through the remainder of the first half, with Banaat FC heading into the break ahead.
Banaat FC Pull Away
The second half saw Banaat FC continue to press, with the team's attacking pressure eventually rewarded again in the 65th minute.
Lizz delivered the ball into the box towards Tarfa Alghafri (17), whose effort struck the left post. The deflection fell to Lizz, who found Jennifer Yeboah (24). Her first attempt was blocked by a defender, but Jennifer reacted quickly to finish on the second attempt and double Banaat FC’s lead.
Just 12 minutes later, Jennifer Yeboah was on the scoresheet again. In the 77th minute, Lizz produced another moment of quality inside the box, lifting a volley over two defenders and into the path of Jennifer. After taking two touches, the Ghanaian forward calmly finished beyond the goalkeeper, who had rushed from her line to close down the chance.

A Captain’s Finish
Banaat FC’s fourth and final goal arrived in the 85th minute.
With a free-kick awarded well outside the box, captain Sabrine Mamay (10) stepped up.
She delivered a spectacular strike over the defensive wall and into the net, putting the finishing touch on a dominant opening performance.
4–0.
The final whistle confirmed a perfect start to Banaat FC’s first international campaign: four goals scored, none conceded and three points secured.
A Statement Opening
The result gave Banaat FC’s the ideal start to life in the WAFF Women’s Club Championship, with the squad combining attacking quality, defensive discipline and the depth required to manage the demands of tournament football.
For a team experiencing its first international competition, it was a performance that reflected the preparation that had gone into the journey to Jordan.
But for the players, the victory was about more than the scoreline.
Following the match, Areej Alhammadi (13) reflected on what the opening win meant to the squad:
“It is a great start to the tournament. It gave us all the confidence we need for the next game. But that doesn’t mean we will be complacent. We are going to take every game as the first, and with the same mindset and the same fight.”
She added that the team's ambition remained firmly on the ultimate prize: reaching the final and competing for the title.
More Than a Game
For Lizz Forshaw, who opened the scoring and played a role in two of Banaat FC’s goals, the victory was also an opportunity to recognize the supporters behind the team.
“We couldn’t do it without you. We love you guys.”
Speaking directly to the supporters, Forshaw highlighted what their support means to the team and the wider mission of growing women's football.
“We are not just fighting for one another on this field, it is so much more than just a game. It is a community.”
The message captured what this international journey represented for Banaat FC: football, community and the continued growth of the women’s game.
A Winning Start
The 4–0 victory gave Banaat FC the perfect start to its first international campaign, with four different moments of attacking quality, a clean sheet and three valuable points in Group A.
The squad would go on to face the Etihad Club in its second group-stage fixture as the WAFF campaign continued.
