As part of our community outreach, we visited Brighton College in Al Barsha, in collaboration with their PE department. We spoke to more than 300 girls from Year 3 to 10 about Banaat FC, women’s football in the UAE, and the pathways available for girls in sport.
First-team players Aisha, Ikram, Wuyah, Maissa, Caye and Mel joined the visit. We began with a short presentation on who we are as a club and our work in developing women’s football over the past two years. Throughout the day, we also led four girls’ PE classes.
For many of the students, it was their first time hearing about Banaat FC and learning about the opportunities available for girls in football. Next term, we’ll continue our visits to schools across Dubai to expand awareness of girls’ football and to inspire the next generation of girls to step onto the pitch.
