This past weekend, Banaat FC Academy made its second appearance at the prestigious Manchester City Abu Dhabi Cup with our U18s having competed last year, and this year marking a milestone for our younger squads.
Our U12, U14, and U16 players took to the field, many playing 2-3 years above their age, and some representing multiple teams throughout the tournament. They faced older, international opponents, gaining invaluable experience and testing themselves at a higher level of competition.
While results weren’t always in our favor, the weekend was a fantastic opportunity for our players to learn, develop, and grow their resilience.
Our U12 team had an especially memorable run, qualifying for the shield competition, but ultimately placed 4th in their group and were knocked out in the quarter-finals. Despite the result, this was a valuable experience for them to build on for the rest of the season.
We are incredibly proud of all our players for their efforts and representing Banaat FC Academy with determination. Experiences like this are exactly what shape our academy players, and we can’t wait to see how they continue to grow on and off the pitch.
